One of the questions we get asked most often by visitors coming to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is, “Where should I stay?”
There are a number of hotels, AirBnBs, and bed and breakfasts to choose from in the Skagit Valley Area, but here are a few of our favorite lodging options that we usually recommend to our friends and family.
The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Downtown Seattle
We know it’s not the closest hotel to tulip fields of Skagit Valley, but many Tulip Festival visitors fly into Seattle from all over the world. If you’re flying into Seattle and want a luxurious place to stay, the Fairmont Olympic is it. Stay at the Fairmont Olympic to get your dose of city and then jump in a car to make the scenic 60 mile drive up to Skagit Valley for your dose of country. The Fairmont Olympic has incredible
dining options, including the George restaurant, and recently underwent a multi-million dollar renovation to exceed the needs of modern travelers.
It only takes about 1 hour to travel from Seattle to Mount Vernon, so you can easily get the beauty of Skagit Valley and luxury of the big city when you stay at the Fairmont Olympic and it is one of our preferred lodging partners!
La Conner Country Inn
The La Conner Country Inn was recently purchased by a local set of siblings and their spouses. Together they are working to modernize the Inn that has been an institution in downtown La Conner since the 1970s.
The accommodations are comfortable and cozy, the hosts are friendly and knowledgeable of the area, they offer e-bike rentals and more, and you just can’t beat the location for its proximity to the fields and central location in La Conner!
La Conner Channel Lodge
The La Conner Channel Lodge is another great option and the only hotel on the water in La Conner! Enjoy a room that overlooks the Swinomish Canal and relax as you watch the boats go by.
Conveniently located in downtown La Conner with all its wonderful dining options, it also has its own premier restaurant, The Oyster & Thistle Restaurant & Pub. Combined with its close proximity to the tulip fields, the La Conner Channel Lodge is a great place to stay when you come to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
The Majestic Inn & Spa
If Anacortes wasn’t in your Tulip Festival visit plans, it really should be. It’s a quick 15 minute drive from the tulip fields of west Mount Vernon and one of the most scenic small towns in the United States. And right in the heart of Anacortes, you’ll find the historic and elegant Majestic Inn & Spa.
The Majestic has a great central location in Anacortes and the Apothecary Spa located on site is first-class. Enjoy some pampering at the Majestic Hotel before or after your stroll through the tulip fields, and you won’t regret it.
No matter where you stay, we recommend booking directly through the lodging’s website because there may be discounts for doing so and it’s always easier to work directly with the business than go through a third-party if your plans change.
Get more information on each of these lodging options on their websites. You can also find them (and earn points for visiting!) on our Tulip Valley App!
